- Create new partnerships and programs to advance the study of the structure and function of plant genomes.
- Integrate and extend plant-related activities with the UCD Genome Center and future animal and microbial genome programs.
- Attract
outstanding students and post-docs to participate in PGP research and
educational programs and provide well-coordinated, cross-disciplinary
training in critical areas of plant genome research.
- Facilitate public sector agricultural applications of genomics.
- Develop active public outreach programs to foster community awareness of plant genomics and biotechnology
